Parenting Plan Template – New Options!

Tennessee Parenting Plan Template Updates

On July 1, 2019 a major new change was added for Tennessee divorcing parents.  It also applies to juvenile court parents.  The Tennessee parenting plan template is more formally known as the Tennessee Permanent Parenting Plan. First, an option for JOINT primary residential parents (PRP) can now be agreed upon.  This is a great option for parents with 50/50 parenting time in Tennessee. Second, the designation of a primary residential can now be waived.  The Tennessee Permanent Parenting Plan form has not yet been changed to reflect this new law.  However, you can modify or add the language to the form. Additionally, a family law attorney or a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Mediator can help you with the form. Lastly, to download a free copy of the form, CLICK HERE. It is available in Word, PDF and a fillable version. Finally, it is available in multiple languages.

Did you know you can now CHOOSE your child’s school if you have 50/50 custody in Tennessee?  Therefore, the law allows the parents to choose a school based on the address of either parent. Again, you will have to add these changes to the current form.
